Contribution of cytogenetic and molecular biology in disorders of sex development diagnosis: About 55 cases

Disorders of sex development (DSD) when diagnosed early is important as it pose a real public health problem in Senegal. Among the supporting tools, molecular ones, which are not available everywhere very useful. In this context, cytogenetic and analyses were implemented cytology laboratory at Aristide Le Dantec hospital to enhance DSDs diagnosis well evaluate impact parents' age on such abnormalities. 55 cases DSD have been received for (Barr chromatin GTG karyotype) (SRY gene research) techniques used characterize these anomalies according standards described international nomenclature. Three categories found, namely 46,XX DSD, 46,XY chromosomal DSD. SRY present 4 patients absent 3 results showed that made earlier than previously (about 07 years).
